A great way to read while teaching about 2D shapes is The Greedy Triangle by Marilyn Burns. While making comparisons, students are also counting up to 5 and practicing correct number order on math worksheets. They practice sorting by shape, size, and color. In addition to everyday objects, students learn different ways that they can compare shapes. Your kindergarten students will think it is the “best day ever” when they get to take off their shoes!
